"Long after midnight, when we should have been snug and warm in our tent, we were still stuck one hundred and fifty feet up on the sheer face. Our harnesses were clipped to the "O" rings that were pined into the mountain. It was then that I felt the remaining heat from my arms and my legs rush in my torso. This was my body's last ditch effort at survial. For first time in since the morning before, I felt warm and sleeply. Under that starry sky, I knew my time to die."
